Festival of Contemporary Russian Films began in Trivandrum

“People in Trivandrum always had nostalgia over Soviet and Russian films. Screening of Russian films at the former House of Soviet Culture gave opportunity for Keralites to know the culture of Russia through the films that were screened at the Centre. By starting the regular screening we got back this opportunity. Now we will be able to watch contemporary Russian Films thanks to the Festival”, said Mr.Zacharia. Ratheesh C. Nair, Honorary Consul of the Russian Federation and Director, Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Thiruvanathapuram welcomed the gathering. Mr.Suresh Babu, Co-ordinator of the Film Circle at the Centre proposed vote of thanks. Karen Sakhnazarov’s WHITE TIGER was the inaugural Film. The Conductor (Director- Pavel Lungin), KO KO KO (Avdotia Smirnova), The Tale of Time Lost( Alexander Ptushenko) and Vassa( Gleb Panfilov) were screened as part of the Festival
