RUSSIAN KAVITHAKAL – Collection of Poems by 4 Russian Poets released

 

Brief biography of the Russian Poets is also included in the book. Minister for Tourism, Government of Kerala released the book by handing over the first copy to the First Secretary in the Russian Embassy in New Delhi Mr. Andrey Ermolenko. In his inaugural speech, The Minister said that Russian Literature is familiar to people in Kerala thanks to these kinds of efforts of publishing the translation of Russian Literature in to Malayalam.“Anna Akhmatova was a writer who stood for freedom of writers. Boris Pasternak also wrote against the establishment. Evthushenko is still involved in social activities. These poets wrote poems to convey messages to the society”, said the Minister. Member of Kerala Legislative Assembly Mr. K. Muraleedharan presided over the function. Journalist Mr. N.K. Raveendran introduced the book. Honorary Consul of the Russian Federation and Director Russian Cultural centre Mr. Ratheesh C. Nair welcomed the gathering and Rosemary proposed vote of thanks.
