Year of Russian Dance and Music inaugurated

An year long festival titled Russian Dance and Music-2013 was inaugurated with a colourful dance performance by the Charodey Dance group near Moscow. The festival is being organised by the Russian Cultural Centre in Trivandrum in association with Chief representation of Rossotrudnichestvo in India and Moscow based Dostayanie Centre.. More than 25 artists presented both traditional and contemporary dance forms. The included Russian folk dances, Caucasian dances, Ukrainian dances.

Talk on the Russian Cinema –Yesterday and Today

A talk on ‘Russian Cinema-Yesterday and Today’ was organised on 13 February as part of the on going Festival of contemporary Russian Films. Film critic and Director of School of Letters, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Kerala Dr.V.C.Haris delivered Key-note address. In his speech he briefly explained the three stages of Soviet and Russian Films.

Festival of Contemporary Russian Films began in Trivandrum

Festival of Contemporary Russian Films began at the Russian Cultural Centre on 6 February. Noted writer and columnist Mr.Paul Zacharia inaugurated the Festival. In his address Mr.Zacharia said that regular screening of Russian Films at the Russian Cultural centre provided the Lovers of Russian cinema with a chance to watch good movies.

Birth Anniversary of Anton Chekhov and screening of The Lady with the little Dog

Birth anniversary of Anton Chekhov was celebrated on 29 January at the Russian Cultural Centre in Trivandrum. Former Minister for Education and Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala Mr. M.A.Baby inaugurated the celebrations. In his inaugural address Mr.M.A.Baby said that Russia was the only country that offered all time celebrities to the World in all walks of life.
