75 Birth Anniversary of Vladimir Vysotsky

Under the auspices of the Russian Cultural Centre, Trivandrum, a musical evening was organised as a tribute to the great singer of Russia Vladimir Vysotsky. Vysotsky’s 75th Birth anniversary fell on 25 January 2013. A Photo exhibition was held on 25th January and the Concert was organised on 26th January. Music critic Prof Ben Roy talked about the contribution of Vladimir Vysotsky.

150th Birth Anniversary of Konstantin Stanislavsky celebrated In Trivandrum

The 150th Birth Anniversary of Konstantin Stanislavsky was celebrated in Trivandrum by organizing a seminar on Stanislavsky’s system in modern Theatre. Famous Theatre activist and director of the Centre for visual and Performing Arts , University of Kerala Dr.Raja Warrier inaugurated the seminar. In his inaugural address Dr.Warier said that Stanislavsky’s system changed the concept of theatre. “He was Russia’s contribution to the World Theatre along with Anton Chekhov.

Rozhdestvo celebration with Christmas carols.

The Ulibka Music Club of the Russian Cultural Centre in association with the TTC Music Group presented Christmas Carols on 6 January evening to welcome the Russian Orthodox Christmas. More than 75 people including Russian Nationals staying in Trivandrum and Russian tourists were present at the lawn of Trivandrum Tennis Club to listen to both Russian and English Carl songs.

Prof.Govindan Nair, laureate of Pushkin Medal honoured

Prof.Govindan Nair, Head of the Russian Language Institute at the Russian Cultural centre who was conferred with the Russian President Vladimir Putin’s prestigious Pushkin Medal was honoured in a function that was organised on 4 January. According to the Decree signed by the President of the Russian Federation (Number 1659 dated 13 December 2012)

Exhibition of paintings by Raja Nandini began at the Roerich Art Gallery on 3 January

Spreading the value of spirituality and hoping the role of communal harmony in bringing peace in new year, an exhibition of paintings MAHAYATRA began at the RUSSIAN Cultural Centre on 3 January. 44 paintings by Raja Nandini were exhibited till 9 January at the Roerich Art Gallery.
